- Important rules to dieting
Know yourself and your enemies; you will win a hundred times in a hundred battles. –Sun Zi
In this case, your body is you, and the excess is your enemy. By knowing both its components will ensure you victory over it.
If you had read between all the lines of my earlier post of “Understand the types of benefit you get from food”, you would actually have the idea in mind how to diet healthily. Let’s begin WITH 1 basic rule:
*****You can alter amount of carbohydrates to any level *****
BUT not the rest of the 6 essential nutrients as they are needed to be at required level!
Other things to note for all successful healthy dieting + complexion benefits:
1. 3 compulsory meals a day. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Healthy dieting is not skipping meals.
2. Cut down the SUGAR:
a. Nothing more than a small piece of chocolate (size of your thumb) from Cadbury if you need a little energy boasts in between the meals.
b. (1 can of soft drinks has potentially more calorie than 1 bowl of rice. If you really like soft drinks like I do, change it to Coke Zero)
3. H²O. Average 6-8 glasses of water a day.
4. Do not Eat before sleep
5. Exercise moderately* (Especially parts of the body you want to tone)
6. Vitamins supplements
7. Rest Enough (Research states that 7 hours sleep maximize repair of skin and body)
Other important dieting clarification:
1. Carbohydrates should not be stopped completely for growing child (<18). Little amount must be taken on the safe side to ensure their body develops properly. 2. If you attempt to stop as many important meals, subsequent meals you take will be naturally “stored” as much as your body can take. This is obviously not a good idea as those dieters tend to balloon up once they start eating normally. 3. DO NOT PRACTICE ANOREXIA!! Malnourishment can kill! 4. Fat in moderate amount is essentially good. Except Trans Fat (E.g. Oily food). Is best if avoided. (I know is hard as McDonald’s Fries is =P~~~) 5. Over exercise and sudden stop for weeks can contribute to weight gain when amount of food (Particularly Carbohydrates & Fat) taken doesn’t change. 6. Is widely believed to be best for breakfast meals to be more than lunch or dinner. 7. If the body is make up of up to 60-70% water as heaviest component, what does many slimming centers, medications do for fast instant results? (For you to guess)
